Westwood sits on the Californian west shore, with the well known Beverly Hills close by.  This small town is just a short 15 minute drive from the Pacific Ocean.  Many residents consider Westwood an exciting place to live.  Homes in Westwood are still quite affordable, the air is clear as a crystal and there is friendly people everywhere you go.  The water supply comes from Clear Creek, from a natural spring.  It's the best water you will ever get.  Westwood has quite a few small neighborhoods, which include Century City, Cheviot Hills, Westwood Hills, Rancho Park and Little Holmby.  These wonderful community neighborhoods offer a characteristic that unique to its self and many landmarks and common boundaries are shared.

Many years ago Westwood featured sidewalks that were steam heated and Ripley's Believe it or Not featured Westwood for having more dogs in the town than people.

The Westwood school system is served by the Westwood Unified School District.  There is one elementary school, one Jr. high school and one high school.  There are also two charter schools and a few private schools in the area.  The district is proud to have been awarded the Distinguished Schools Award, it is given by the California Department of Education.  The district also boasts great extra curricular and sports programs.  There is something for every student to better their education and get active in their community. 

There are plenty of things to see and do in this trendy and lively area.  The Century City shopping center is ranked one the best things to see and do in Westwood, it features Bloomingdales, Kenneth Cole, Anne Taylor, multiplex theaters and upscale shopping boutiques.  Westwood Village is another great place to visit while in Westwood, it offers movies, shopping, restaurants and a spot for the college crowd to mix and mingle.  You wont find a more magnificent place for nightlife and shopping in this bustling little town.

Sitting on 26-acres of prime land the Westwood Recreation Complex has many things to offer the residents of Westwood such as ball courts, ball fields, a community building, 2 playgrounds, barbecues and picnic areas, swimming pools and indoor gyms.  Holmby Park offers jogging trails, lawn bowling green, a playground, barbecues and picnic areas, 5 horseshoe pits and a golf course.
