The district is proud to have been awarded the Distinguished Schools Award, it is given by the California Department of Education. The district also boasts great extra curricular and sports programs. There is something for every student to better their education and get active in their community. There are plenty of things to see and do in this trendy and lively area. The Century City shopping center is ranked one the best things to see and do in Westwood, it features Bloomingdales, Kenneth Cole, Anne Taylor, multiplex theaters and upscale shopping boutiques. Westwood Village is another great place to visit while in Westwood, it offers movies, shopping, restaurants and a spot for the college crowd to mix and mingle. You wont find a more magnificent place for nightlife and shopping in this bustling little town. Sitting on 26-acres of prime land the Westwood Recreation Complex has many things to offer the residents of Westwood such as ball courts, ball fields, a community building, 2 playgrounds, barbecues and picnic areas, swimming pools and indoor gyms. Holmby Park offers jogging trails, lawn bowling green, a playground, barbecues and picnic areas, 5 horseshoe pits and a golf course.
